The stingray is NOT an endangered species and there are no restrictions on the manufacture or sale of items manufactured from this skin. Our stingray items are manufactured from farmed stingray.

Stingray leather has been used throughout history, most notably in Japan, for everything from armour and sword handle wraps to high quality wallets, handbags, and other ornamental items. This material is gaining in popularity in many countries around the world due to its unique beauty and reputation as the world's most durable leather. The tanning process produces a balanced mix of softness and toughness that is water, fire, and tear resistant. Very easy to maintain, and even if subjected to severe soiling, the surface can be scrubbed with ordinary household detergent and then just wiped with a damp cloth. Colour treatment and special polishing techniques make the final leather appear like luminous pearls.

There are numerous species of Stingray Fish, but only around 7 have any kind of commercial value. Though their shapes are basically the same, the style of the bony "pearl" on their backs, unique to each fish, can differ a great deal.

Black calf leather; will hold one mobile phone with dimensions of up to 4.5 " x 2" x 1" (for example Samsung 330, Nokia 2100 etc); therefore suitable for a multitude of today's phones.

Apart from the frontal velcro fastened phone compartment, there is one zipped compartment (accessible whilst the holder is being worn on a belt) measuring 4.75 " x 2.5 " suitable for loose change, spare battery and so on.

There is also a small pocket for a spare sim card. On the rear of the wallet is a riveted and stitched belt loop.
