Here is throwback from the 1980s in the form of the now classic Citizen Ana-Digi Temp. These watches are still being produced in varying designs but this one is identical to the original. Whilst obviously of somewhat 'different' design to say the least, this watch is extremely practical and has functions which are actually useful!

Movement: Quartz calibre 8988; analogue time with second analogue dial showing seconds, alam time, dual time hour or chronograph hours. Digital showing local time, date, alarm time, dual time or chronograph; lower panel shows seconds or temperature; temperature in Centigrade or fahrenheit.

Old school type calculator/databank from Casio which is very retro in design. First introduced in the late 1980s, this watch continues in production with the only change being a switch from orange to green nightlight of the old side lit variety. Great for those who prefer the old designs to the new!

A slightly smaller proportioned Skyhawk utilising the same Eco Drive calibre that has proved popular over the last few years. Lots of features all all without having to replace a battery! Normally this watch sells for £169.00 in the UK.

A bit of an unusual item this. This is a Seiko World Time card which I a assuming was a promotional item as it has the Hino trucks logo. I am assuming it is from the late 1980s given the ability to set the calendar as far back as 1986. To quote the instruction manual:

' The Seiko World Time card is a digital quartz traveling clock of card size that displays the time and calendar in 24 cities of 18 different time zones throughout the world. By lightly pressing a flag of a country or name of a city representing a desired time zone, the time and calendar of the zone will be automatically displayed. Daylight Saving Time Summer Time) can be set for all the 18 time zones. The clock also features an alarm function. The alarm can be set to ring at the designated time in any of the 24 cities. Full automatic calendar is provided, and once set, it automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years up to the end of 2035.'

That's about the size of it! An interesting item for collectors of anything Seiko.

These days this one shouldn't need too much of an introduction; hugely popular, Traser watches feature self contained light sources which will glow continuously for 25 years or so without exposure to light. This example is new though from late 2003 before Traser changed their brand/logo and in some cases, movement. A mid range model featuring the best tritium filled tubes from MB Microtec. A good alrounder with 200m water resistance.

A pretty much 'does it all' gadget type watch which is certainly fascinating to use. Quite complex in terms of the information at your disposal. A couple of companies have produced this type of timepiece; some of them are hugely expensive so this one is here at a bargain price for those who are curious!

Rare in the UK, this Citizen dive watch looks extremely similar to its automatic cousin, the NY0040 series. However, this one has the crown at the 3 position and is of course quartz. For those who prefer the precision and lack of intervention that a quartz diver gives, this is ideal. This one features the inky black dial that makes the automatic version so popular.

Here is a basic military styled watch by Lorus (a Seiko company). Super value for money with a great fit and finish for the price. Decently proportioned with an excellently executed NATO type strap and 100m water resist to boot. Retails for £30.00 on the UK High St.
